CDQ has been on the rise since Masterkraft discovered him and when he released his first hit single under Masterkraft. Since then the rapper has not looked back as his status has changed from a fast rising rapper to an household name in the industry. The rapper has come a long way in his career and he won’t take it lightly if his hardwork is undermined by been called an upcoming rapper. This was the case of a popular instagrammer “ Instablog9ja ” who reposted CDQ’s post with images of US Dollar, gold wristwatch, chain and Nigerian passport which he captioned – “I love Nigeria my country still” Instablog9ja reposted his post and captioned it – “Upcoming Nigerian rapper, CDQ, flaunts his rivers of dollars and jewelry on instagram” This angered the rapper and he made another post and labeled it “Letter to Instablog9ja”. FREE MY DAUGHTER - ORITSEFEMI CRIES OUT

Image
A couple of months ago, Nigerian singer Oritsefemi made a passionate appeal to men via his Instagram account that they should keep away from his daughter who was about to start college then. The singer in a recent chat with Punch opened up on why he made the appeal and also, his relationship with his daughters. According to him, “I was very serious about warning men against my daughter. Every parent wants their kids to get to a certain level in life before they begin to think about relationship and mine is not different. That was why I posted the message on my Instagram page. “I have already spoken to my daughter, so I decided to talk to the general public and plead with them to allow her grow older before they begin to chase her. It may sound like a joke but I was seriously passing a message across. It does not mean she would not have a boyfriend or get married someday.” About his relationship with his daughters, the “Double Wahala” hit maker said, “I relate with my d...

Image
Co-covener of the Bring Back Our Girls, BBOG, group, Obiageli Ezekwesili, has continued the exchange of words between her movement and a group led by President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter, Hadiza Buhari-Bello. She maintained her advise that it shouldn’t use of the BBOG name for fund raising. We reported that the Africa Support and Empowerment Initiative, AFRISEI, led by Hadiza Buhari-Bello,  earlier rejected allegations of franchise infringement by the BBOG. “The Africa Support and Empowerment Initiative has its own defined objectives and that it didn’t need to steal anybody’s ideas to operate in line with its own objectives,” the group said in a statement Friday, October 21. It followed BBOG’s criticism of the use of the group’s inscription at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on the Chibok Girls Endowment Project, which took place on Monday in Abuja. The BBOG demanded an immediate retraction and unreserved apology from the organisers of the event, and u...

JUBILATION IN ANAMBRA AS 11 DETAINED WERE FREE

Image
There was jubilation in some parts of Onitsha and Okpoko towns in Anambra State following the release of 11 of the 14 members of the Biafra Independence Movement (BIM) in police custody. Those released by police included Lady Pauline Muoghalu, Nze Duru Alisi and nine others, who were among the 34 members of the group arrested by the Joint Task Force (JTF) last month. The BIM members were arrested and taken into police custody during a peaceful procession on September 13, 2016 to mark 17 years of non-violent agitation for the actualisation of a sovereign state of Biafra. The Director of Information of BIM, Mr. Chris Mocha, who spoke to newsmen shortly after the detainees were granted bail by the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Atani in Ogbaru Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, urged members of the group to remain steadfast in the struggle. He, however, urged the Nigerian Army in Onitsha to avoid taking laws into their hands and hand over to the police 18 of their...

OBANIKORO HAS BEEN SINGING HIS WAY DEEPER AND DEEPER INTO TROUBLE

Image
Obanikoro has been singing his way deeper and deeper into trouble, sources at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have told Pulse. Obanikoro surprisingly turned himself into the waiting arms of the anti-graft agency as soon as he touched down in Nigeria from the United States last week. The former Lagos State Governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is being investigated for frittering N4.745bn. The sum came from the $2.1bn meant for the procurement of arms but which was diverted to meet political ends by erstwhile National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki , investigators say. Obanikoro has been with the EFCC since October 17, 2016 and it’s quite the turnaround for a man who only said in June that his trial was a media one - a circus. “Suggestions of an EFCC investigation have dwelt solely in the realm of rumours, over which I have sued several media organisations to court,” Obanikoro had thundered from his safe haven in the U....

MACBAN HAS FROWNED ABOUT EKITI STATE GOVERNOR AYODELE FAYOSE

Image
Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigerian (MACBAN) has frowned at what it described as the Ekiti state government’s alleged attack on some of its members in the state. Governor Fayose had earlier urged residents of the state to poison the cattle of Fulani herdsmen who eat on their farms. He also launched an agency that will ensure that herdsmen do not violate the anti-grazing law which he signed on Monday, May 23, 2016. The umbrella body of cattle rearers, also called on Fayose to tender an unreserved apology and compensate its members whose cows were killed. According to Daily Post, MACBAN said “We have been reliably alerted an impeccable source in Ado- Ekiti that the Anti-maul vigilante group shot five cows and carted away with the meat but the herdsman was able to flee with the rest of his cattle. “We are hereby constrained to implore the federal government through its security agencies to wade into this unprovoked and primitive aggression against our mem...

Image
The president, represented by Prof. Chiedu Mafiana, Executive Director at the  National University Commission, spoke in Ilorin at the 32nd convocation of the University of Ilorin. According to him, it is the expectation of government that in the near future, universities should be self-reliant and provide substantial portion of their needed funds. Buhari also said that government was deeply concerned about developments in the nation’s universities. “Government is uncomfortable that our citadels of learning which should be training grounds for probity, social justice and decorum have become havens for gross indiscipline, cultism, sexual harassment, immorality, indecency, violence, unnecessary demonstrations and all forms of anti-social behaviours," Buhari added. The president stressed the need for a proper communication channel between students and management to enable both parties interact, dialogue and consult freely. He said “This will help to engender peace, toler...

PRESIDENT BUHARI IS READY TO MEET NIGER DELTA ELDERS

Image
According to Daily Post, the Minister of state for petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu said the meeting, which was earlier slated for October 29, 2016, was moved because it is a Saturday.
